The roarsome Pride of Yorkshire trail of 150 life sized lions and lionesses and 150 cubs are now on the streets of South Yorkshire!
This follows past trails of the Bears of Sheffield (2021) and the Herd of Sheffield (2016) and aims to raise £2.8 million to help towards transforming the Emergency Department of Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
We are proud and delighted that five AGS artists have been painting the lions:
Amadora (see her lioness ‘The Final Furlong’ at Doncaster Racecourse)

Judy Randle (her lion of the Sheffield Woodlands ‘Forest’ is at the Canon Arena in Sheffield and her lioness ‘Fern’ will be arriving soon at the Paramount in Penistone)

Mary Tear (see her lioness ‘Colours of Sheffield’ in Orchard Square)

Rosie Butcher (helped with painting the Springvale Primary School ‘Roary’ cub, find at Tesco, Penistone)

Vicky Scott (her lion ‘King of the Jungle’ is in Millenium Square and lioness ‘Queen of the Jungle’ is in the Botanical Gardens)

150 lions and 150 cubs is an awful lot – it celebrates 150 years of the brilliant Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
You can collect the lions using an app or buy a paper map, head to the https://prideofyorkshire.org/ website for details.
The photos are from the launch event at the Utilita Arena last month.
